Workshops from home

I will be running a few crafty textile workshops from home this year. As there are not many flowers around this time of year, I thought I would start with making my flowery broaches. Fun, informal and around the kitchen table. The first one will be on the 10th of January in East Devon email for more info and to book a place .

Recycling our Christmas cards

How to make Christmas cards into baubles

Let the crafting carry on after christmas .Turn old christmas cards into baubles. From the cards ,cut out 21 same size circles (trace round the base of a jar ). On one circle ,draw an equilateral triangle, ensuring each point touches the circles edge ,and cut out. Trace a triangle onto the back of all remaining circles and fold along all lines .Glue or staple the flaps of five circles together (meeting at a central point) to form the top of the bauble;repeat to form the bottom. Glue/staple the remaining ten circles together so that they form a long line, then glue/staple ends together- this will be the baubles middle ring.glue the top and bottom to the middle ring. pierce the bauble with a needle and thread through a thin ribbon .Hang and enjoy

FlapJack parcels

I may be really sad admitting to this , but it came about from being a terrible cook so I'd wrap them together to make them stick together. Now I secretly love doing it and giving them to friends and family with pictures they would like . It's also an ideal way hiding bad baking!
