Snow Queen Tiara

I've been working on making my tiaras, so they can also be worn around the neck. Then you can have more opportunities to wear them.not just at new years eve.

January comes

Little Collars

Little collars perk up outfits and bring a little winter cheer. Really enjoyed getting back to a bit of sewing. If I dont get around to putting them on folksy they are 10 pounds inc p&p. If you want to have a go yourself there is a very similar patten  in last months  Molly Makes magazine.

Apron dress heading for folksy

Had time to finish another of my Apron dresses and pop it on folksy.

Anyone want to model my hats

Anyone out there want to model my hats? I realise it's a mad busy time of year for most peolpe so we could wait for the New Year and outdoor winter sunshine. I love doing little scenes with my hats, but people need to see them on real people, it gives you more confidence to wear them.
In return you get to keep a hat or have one made for you. Any takers ? It would all be done on trust I'd post them to you . I'd do it myself but I'm getting over a big operation and feeling less than glamorous. When you make something it's so easy to give up and move on to making other things which you hope to be a hit - so this is my new year hat push to get them into the big wide world and not just in Devon, before I see my design somewhere else which would be sad for me .

Lollipop Shoes

What I'm listening to is  'Lollipop Shoes' by Joanne Harris. It is the sequel to Chocolat. One of my favourite books/films and this is just as enchanting. I am making a series of dolls like the one here inspired by the characters whilst listening to the cd.

crochet round cones for christmas trees

I like crocheting around cones to make a kind of tree. I've added lace, but they look nice made in mohair wool .Make holes in the cone and put a battery night light to shine through. Have fun making this festive time.

Doll of the day

Off into the woods to gather wood she goes.

Trying to be green and glam up last years xmas cards

Some christmas cards you just want to keep forever. So with a hole punch and some wool i've made theses into tags or cards to give again. I might even join them alltogether to make woolly card bunting. Have a go ,just watch the holes don't rip when pushing the hook though .

My woolly medals for the brave

Thinking of Remberance Sunday and brave people past and present, with this in mind I designed my own woolly medals to sell , but more inporantly to give to family and friends.I do have two very dear friends who have to be very brave at the moment so this post makes me think of them. If you want to make a woolly medal for yourself, and let's face it we all deserve a medal at some point in our life  knit a traingle then felt it in the washing machine, dry it and sew wise words and buttons, lace etc on to it and a clip on the back.  So go on award yourself or a dear friend a woolly medal. We are after all all doing our best.  They are also a great to use up all you odd little bits of wool.

An orangie post

An orangie post, my allotment, some pumpkin knitting which is an easy rectangle -  the shape is made by pulling the thread around it to make the segments and my beech nut broach a favourite green and glamorous broach. Very easy to make with a beech nut piece of wire, a little green wool and a splash of orange nail varnish. Lastly the lovely orange of calendulas.
