Pop up Lavender Saturday

Saturday June 14th pop up workshop in my home Lavender themed. Spaces go quickly, so this time new people who haven't done a Bodkin workshop can book places first.
Trying the crafts out on my mum. I got her painting bags before breakfast one morning when she was staying. These we would make first so they dry for taking everything you make home in.
Come and see the sea 2mins walk from your workshop.
My Kitchen were we will have lots of fun

We must have Sidmouth Poppy Cakes.  booking information link.                    https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bodkin-and-sidmouth-poppys-lavender-workshop-tickets-11867902215

I spy the Elderflowers are out.

Here Pearl is standing by one of her favourite books. This lovely book by Susan Hill is beautifully illustrated by Angela Barrett.
 Elderflower Cordial
My little cheats version . Push a head of Elderflowers into a small bottle of water with a teaspoon of honey leave over night in the fridge and tell me how it tastes? I think it tastes of summer.

Lets make birds nests

To the lovely people out there who have asked me many times to share how I make my nests. So for you, every Wednesday in June and July from 3-4.30pm at Mill street crafts Sidmouth I will. It includes all your materials. which I have some lovely bits for us to play with. It is helpful if you can do basic crocheting. But fear not the class before from 2-3pm -which is only £5 is  beginners crochet and that would be enough skills to get you making nests straight after.

Keeping it Seasonal

Apple Tree broaches
Trying to keep workshops seasonal. A little taster of things to come. I have used the lovely Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady as a back drop for many photos.
 Autumn Angel
Spring nest workshop one I made earlier
To early to mention my favourite season, but its the book I want to show you anyone read 'The Country Bizarre 'by Andy Pittaway and Bernard Scofield?

It was a series of magazines that were originally published between 1970-74. using an underground press. It appeared seasonally in 11 issues with a patchwork of country matters. It really is a medley of nature, ecology, craftwork, folklore and poetry. I found mine on eBay quite cheap. I LOVE IT .
